Does anyone know this is affecting the other disputed regions around Russia. Now that the Russians are firmly entrenched in Ukraine could it mean risings in Chechnya or Dagestan. Could the Georgian retake South Ossetia and without Russian support will Azerbaijan threaten Armenia.
Also now Russia is a pariah how might it effect Syria. I don't think this will become a nuclear conflict however without a strong Russia to support one side I suspect more conflicts maybe escalate.

It spends the rest of putins life ‘managing’ his territory aspirations. Needs a tight well managed coalition all pulling in the same directions, no wavering no ifs or buts. The best outcome is a new Cold War with an Iron Curtain east of Poland.

The only real thing right now we can do to stop it is Wade in now I’m not saying that’s the right decision. But it’s one of the options.

On the ground I feel nato would manage Russia with ease that convoy for example would be smashed to bits in no time.

But what’s stopping us is the potential of a nuclear war

Seems euphemistic really. Won’t call it an invasion. The ‘regret’ seems to be aimed at both sides with some blame apportioned to NATO and the West.

Also when Chinese ministers have spoken they’ve directly criticised the term ‘invasion’ as a Western idea about the ‘conflict’.

You’re not alone, to a certain degree everything about this seems so last century. Perhaps, just perhaps this reminds people of the gains of the second half of the 20th century.

The reminder of the benefits of a rules based world must be the outcome.

To be fair I've never really paid him any attention but I thought his speech (what I heard of it before I fell asleep) was pretty good other than a couple of slip ups which suggested he wasn't a great orator.

So this makes the decision not to blow up the big out outside of Kyiv all the more interesting.

my guesstimation is that the convoy to the north of kyiv is out of range of the drones being used and also protected by mobile air defence batteries/systems.
i've seen vids that claim to be of russian air defence rockets shooting down the turkish supplied drones as well.

Leader of the Western world left Washington many years ago… another outcome of this might be people wake up to the world leader of the world liberal coalition has moved to Europe.

Why was Farage bemoaning on Twitter asking why Biden wasn’t in Europe leading? Is it because the USA has pivoted away and a stronger EU is now in that position, but Farage backed the wrong horse when it came to European policeman.

It goes nowhere. This is better than the alternative. Have you seen threads? We will have to keep going with sanctions and arming Ukrainian people as much as we can and hope either Russians get shot of Putin or their army surrender. We won’t be doing anything else.
