Amongst the worrying talk about how a frustrated putin might use nukes, surely if he starts lashing out at people near to him they might end up thinking "fuck this, he's off his rocker". And instead of going along with plans that might have them and their families blown to oblivion, they'll start seeing an unlikely opportunity to topple him and rule Russia for themselves. I'd be surprised if he's got unerring loyalty. Agree that we need to let him think he's won mind, there has to be an off ramp offered. If we offer and he doesn't take it then its even more reason for those in his inner circle to take matters into their own hands. If he does take it then any ground he gains is disgraceful but at least we step back from the brink, he'll realise his army is shit and can't take any more land, and when he fucks off we hopefully remedy the situation

He says Russia rejected diplomacy, I thought there was another round of talks tomorrow? And how has NATO responded? Sorry but this thread is large and it's a very fluid situation so entirely possible I've missed some info.

think they are on thursday, me guess is will try and surround kiev before talks so they ( russians) are calling the shots ( no pun intended )

It's hopefully a wonderful conclusion to a beyond horrendous situation. Social media has actually done something good for once in this war and Zelensky needs every accolade on Earth for bringing the free world together to combat evil. You know for a fact if people didn't know or care the West's leaders would not intervene.

It's actually incredibly uplifting that this war was forced to be about morals and decency by the Internet, not what the elite can get financially from it by helping.
