He did okay today in difficult circumstances. The Ukrainian journalist didn’t seem to realise that if he did what she wanted we could say hello to WW3 and we know what that entails.

Will any of the oligarchs actually have money/properties in their own names and not either in kids or just a random shell company that's also in another 5 different shell companies all based in different countries around the world making it pretty impossible to take it off them? Surely they can't just have a bank account with £10b sitting in it, or do they? They all knew this could happen so I'd not think many would leave themselves open.

It was ideal in first few days then a few politics bores wouldn’t shut up. Now it is just cretins who cannot understand this was a thread about a momentous moment in history that people wanted to keep abreast of. It could be worse, I could be in Kiev awaiting god knows what.

i'm sure that includes the many that have just been abandoned/broken down/run out of fuel etc..

also that would wipe out the entire british armoured capability if it was us (we'd have 30 tanks left, not even one regiment)
 
I have certain celebrities and talking heads "muted" on Twitter , including Piers Morgan. It has been blissful in recent days however I have seen a retweet into my feed of his most recent column denouncing Putin's nuclear claims as a "bluff" that should be disregarded when enforcing a no-fly zone and eliminating the convoy seemingly headed for Kyiv.

Is there nothing that cretin will not do to generate clicks? Ratcheting up the discord & tension, playing fast and loose with his words. Thank god he was unceremoniously kicked into the shade by GMB , disconnected from a morning platform to proliferate nuclear sabre rattling.

A total clown & not the only one.

The government have done it historically. I know they’ve traced back assets and seized them from undesirables.

This is one of the few things he has said which I agree with.
 
If (hopefully it's true) some Russian units are just giving up and leaving, where are they going?

Can hardly see them just walking home and nothing coming of it. Putin would have them all in siberia as soon as the cross back into Russian territory?
 
Has anyone seen any reports or anything with specifics about these supposed surrenders by the Russians? Would be interested to watch or read.

I am aware he isn't alone in his conclusions, perhaps he is even in the majority, but his "shoot from the hip" style on a multi-million follower populist platform and news site, while entirely devoid of the necessary intelligence to make a decision is irresponsible. Whatever anybody thinks of Putin's inclination to use Nuclear weapons none of us know for sure, and the stakes could not be higher.

Really hope this is true. No one can lead a country without the support of its military. If members of the military on the ground are asking questions, you can only assume the same is true of some higher up. Putin's big stick of nuclear use can't be enacted if the military aren't supportive. Hopefully it all falls down around him, and hopefully it happens bloody quickly
