He has 6000 nuclear missiles and the uk doesn't have the defensive capability to intercept and destroy the missiles mid-air. One missile hitting london would wipe out six million people.

Do we have the defensive capability to intercept any? I wouldn’t expect we could stop 6,000, but could we stop 1?

Can’t believe people on this thread seem to be genuinely worried about nuclear weapons or take it seriously.

As the UK and other governments have said, they are just a distraction and sabre rattling. Never going to happen.

Putin wants people to be scared so there is pressure to ease sanctions and stop supporting Ukraine. That’s all.

Nothing to fear but fear itself.
brave words

Who from? If he drops it in the North Sea who gets to send one back? Surely it can’t be a free for all for every western nuclear country to fire one back?
well theres only 3 countries to choose from

US, UK, France - the last two would certainly have good reason to fire one back would'nt they??

Just to try to make you feel a bit better he has around 6000 nuclear warheads not necessarily 6000 missiles, 4500 are in service in some way. 1500 are in storage waiting to be decommissioned.

The bad news is that they can be delivered in different ways, long range ICBMs & cruise missiles, submarine launched & tactical shorter range ‘battlefield’ weapons.

I reckon if he was to go nuclear he’d use a tactical option first within Ukraine, say if he started getting his arse kicked.
That was the Cold War tactic and they don’t seem to have changed much.

UK - no, we dont have anything capable

US - yes, but only limited capability thats still in testing on a few ships -

i'll edit this post actually - apparently the latest version of Aster on the T45's is ABM capable - could be a good thing that they always seem to be docked at home with engine troubles

;)

The bloke has completely lost the plot. If you think there is 0% chance of a nuke going up then you have not been paying attention.

in Europe only France and UK have nukes so he'd wipe us 2 out first

If and when this sorry mess is over and Russia achieve some kind of regime change there needs to be a commitment made by all nations for nuclear disarmament. I think the impact of economic sanctions could become the weapon of choice in a better world.

For the record, I know this will never happen.
