I agree. But if the solution to this involves Putin remaining in power, how do you minimise the risk he poses? Ongoing pariah status and financial destruction for Russia would be preferable to having a war with them. Ideally, the Russians find a way to get rid of Putin.

At least now most of the world is showing some solidarity and imposing real sanctions.
We will continue to provide aid, but no third party nation is going to provide troops to Ukraine as that really will trigger WW3.

Harry A mentioned the UK has "lost something" and we were discussing the UK population defending the UK.
 
It's not yet confirmed that Russia are kicked out of the Women's Euros taking place this summer in England. You don't get the honour and privilege of playing at Bramall Lane if you've just invaded your neighbour.

There's two types of complaint as far as I can see:
1. Some delicate flowers acting as if the vicar's dropped in and they're terrified to mention religion or politics during their dinner party.
and
2. Some right wingers who are gutted that a lot of folk on their side are either pro-Putin or at least heavily compromised by him and his cash.
maybe a third who want "just the facts maam" etc ?

Anyhoo...as I've said many times, nobody's forcing anyone to read anything or stopping them starting their own thread...
