Substantial difference between doing something where basically nobody else in a position of strength is impacted and something while could end Human Civilization and raise the ire of powerful enemies.

I didn’t think so so what’s the issue? It’s like one of those things where you’ve got to toe the line and be all macho about come on Ukraine but when you phrase it a certain way people are all uppity and snowflakey about it.

It's unpopular because it's not the truth. Ukraine isn't Russia just like Canada isn't the US. Two places having many things in common (and yes, that includes corruption for Ukraine and Russia) does not make them the same nor does it make it morally justifiable for one to take over the other by force. And once the Russians take a place, they dig in hard - to the point that fighting back "later" means decades.

Apart from the odd obvious poster, this isn’t left/right. I’ve literally just agreed with someone I know is fairly right wing especially on Brexit, against someone I know is lefty and closer to me in politics.

Asking for help to back up your stupid statement won’t help. What did we do when Russia invaded Hungary, Afghanistan, Crimea?

At least now most of the world is showing some solidarity and imposing real sanctions.
We will continue to provide aid, but no third party nation is going to provide troops to Ukraine as that really will trigger WW3.

Read back a bit Harry, I’ve already answered that….it’s not comparable, it’s an event that hasn’t happened. I have no idea how I’d react. All I know is I wouldn’t want any of my loved ones injured or killed so if there was a way that can be avoided then I’d be up for exploring it. War is pointless. Absolutely pointless.
