The world isn't completely black and white. You can both feel angry and sick about the situation. Detest Putin and the Russian state for what they are doing. Wish the Russian army would fall back and stop the war, death and destruction. Even wish death upon the Oligkarky and political class of Russia. While also not wishing the death of young working-class lads, many of whom have been conscripted into the Russian army, and probably don't want to be there at all. No soldier I have ever met wanted to be in a war. Nobody wants to kill others. You do it because it is your job, because you are a soldier and have been trained for it. As I said before, I'm sure they want to be at home with their friends and families as much as the Ukrainians.

I can see your point there mind it just rankles with me that people are feeling sorry for the poor lads destroying Ukraines cities and killing their people

The east v west thing came after world war 2 with NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Google up a map for your goodies and baddies whoever they may be.

Right, let’s break down that comment, what is the point in it? There’s not one iota of sense in it. War is shit, very very f***ing shit. It doesn’t change the facts though. It’s knee jerk comments like that which, if half the SMB were in charge, we’d have had nuclear warfare days ago.

I think it’s impossible to say, given that it’s such an extreme scenario.
Personally I think more would stand up than would say they would. I detest the likes of Rees Mogg, Yaxley Lennon and Piers Morgan but I’d like to think I’d have no problem standing by their side if the country was being invaded.

Some of what he's saying - for example, about the corruption - is true. It's also irrelevant to most people's morality. Saying we shouldn't assist a country in defending itself because its government is not a liberal democracy is a non-sequitur to me.

Good one. Getting involved in a war between two foreign countries isn't for me.

Some kind of WW2 scenario or a war directly threatening the UK and I'd sign up in a heartbeat, wouldn't give a shit who the PM was etc. And you can quote me on that if this thing escalates.
