I guess people feel that if your government invades another country, you should be doing all you can to protest/counter that. If not, you’re a target for ridicule?

I think most of us get it, Johnson is a **** and the refugee offering isn't anywhere as good as other countries (bearing in mind someone mentioned Ukraine didn't want them going to far so they could return easily) but to see it constantly regurgitated isn't what we want to see repeated.

Many people in this thread and no doubt many more lurkers who don't even post in the Politics forum will be looking for updates on the latest news on whether this shit is going to escalate even further. The Boris/Brexit/Tory etc bitching posts along with needless tit for tat doesn't really help them does it? Surely you've seen the numerous posts about people who come to this thread to get updates so why can't people not help other posters with valuable input into the thread rather than hinder it?

If something going on in the Ukraine is going to affect the people of Sunderland, if as you say things escalate to that level, its going to be big enough news that people aren't going to have to look on a f***ing messageboard to find it.

Is it an interesting thread? Yes.

Is it important? No.

Tbf, I like the blame America slogan, that’s something I can get right behind.

By the way, when you say they should blame themselves, are you talking about the people in the airport, the tannoy announcer or the Russian government?

Because they can't normally do much in peacetime, but what's going on now won't lead to many repercussions so they're doing their best to cripple anything of importance.

I have no I'll will to peaceful russian citizens. I just wish they would get rid of the nutter that is Putin, and let all civilised countries get along together.
