Kyiv is encircled according to Klitschko and civilian evacuation is impossible.

Makes you wonder if Putin has been using distraction tactics elsewhere in Ukraine.

You can imagine what the Russia-Ukraine talks will be like - capitulate to our demands or Kyiv has had it.

Kyiv was always the goal. From the very beginning, the main thrust was south from Belarus while they tried to take over an airfield near Kiev and land troops there. Why fight for every inch of the whole place when you can just try to capture the nerve center?

The problem for Putin is that finishing the job might well be worse off than not finishing it.

I know that man 😂. There was a map shown on TV earlier which highlighted the areas where Russia are taking/gaining ground and they're all around their own borders. What I'm saying is that it will be far more difficult to defeat the Ukrainians IF the supply lines from the West are left unchecked. As long as munitions, aid and potentially volunteer fighters can enter unchallenged the harder it becomes to stop it turning into a protracted war, and the more Ukrainians that die the less chance the Russians have of installing a puppet government.

In most wars reaching a city is just the start. Invading a city against even competent armed defence is pretty much the hardest thing to do in warfare, still

Has it occurred to you that it happens so often because:
  1. Putin helped fund Brexit. Reversing that decision would piss Putin off and improve unity. If that is not the case it would be simple for Johnson to publish the Russian interference report?
  2. Our own government has been massively complacent around Russian money and giving them undue influence in our internal decisions. If this was Labour your would be screaming “Traitor”. All Johnson has to do is publish the report.
  3. The Tories are more racist than not.
  4. I understand it is hard to admit you are wrong but continuing to support a regime that suggests people escaping a f***ing war zone need to apply for agricultural visas is the final straw for me. After the crisis in Ukraine I will be campaigning full on to get rid of the Tossers running this country.

Sorry but that's just not true. He still hasnt deployed a fraction of what he has at his disposal. There's certainly enough to say he's bitten off a bigger chunk than he can chew, but he certainly has plenty to negotiate with.
 
Easy for me to say but seeing how backward barbarians utilised home made VBIEDs and IEDs in Iraq (mainly roadside bombs) to great effect, the Ukrainians have missed a massive trick.

These smaller Russian Units & Armoured cars & transporter vehicles would have been sitting ducks.
