Nah, just an arrogant miscalculation in my view. He thought they would steamroller in 72 hours. So far they've achieved none of their objectives and from here it's going to get harder.

Yeah that's my thinking, A few posters said he was probably expecting to be welcomed as a liberator by the Ukrainians.

Im not saying that as some are not telling us what to do in war but some have tried to go a tad mental, and from reading pure football some of those should be locked up let alone giving opinions on football.

Like I say we should all be on the same side here and not point scoring

For me I think (like every country) Russias economy has been hit the last 2 years (covid ect) he wanted a quick win to take attention away while gaining a buffer nation, saw the success of the crimea invasion and took it.......... Shit himself now its getting bogged down
 
SORRY IF SEB but this thread reminds me of the conflict in Syria. When Kobani was being pounded by ISIS and we had a forum member announce he was going over as a hired hand. Then never posted again. Then popped back up years later with 1 post in a boxing thread :lol: anyone else recall that?

In hindsight he was probably just yet another SMB wum who would type or lie about anything on here to get attention but iirc other posters were taking him seriously at the time.
