It’s a good job he hasn’t put much thought into how to get back out of Ukraine. I suspect it won’t be needed

That's the only one they've got anarl. Their navy is pretty shite. Still have cruisers and battlecruisers which became obsolete in most other navies after WWII. Don't think they have many more destroyers and frigates than us and a few of those are getting on a bit. They also have five major naval bases so they're spread a bit thin.

Appreciate like their army they have some older gear but I thought they’d gone through a bit of a rebuild in the last decade or so?

It'll play out the way it did for the West in Iraq I reckon. The visitors steam rollering through, dropping bombs etc. Then never ending fighting door to door after that.

The fact that Russia is not already in control of Kiev is proof that the Ukrainians are doing better than expected.
