That Russian carrier that transitted the channel a while ago had to be escorted by a tug for when it broke down

Conscription is taken seriously there too. My best friend is Russian, he came over here in 2003 and I met him at school. When he turned 18 his mother wouldn’t let him go back, she said she’d seen soldiers pulling people aside as they got off flights who lived abroad but were Russian citizens and carted them off to find out why they weren’t reporting for conscription. He didn’t go back until he turned 30.

He’d been unlucky then. Everything goes back to Stalin and his distrust for the army. Don’t let them stay in for too long and become loyal to officers.
