Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Utterly terrifying. The fact that weapons like this exist is mental. Unbelievable engineering but christ, you're talking total and utter devastation.
I think that Putin is having to resort to this, it shows how crap it is going for him. His big bad Russian army isn't what he has bigged it up to be, save for an initial bombing blitz.

If he wasn't a nuclear threat he would have nowhere near the respect he does.

Well done the Ukrainians, hats off to each and everyone of them, they have shown not only bravery, but how to go about it with decorum given the circumstances. They are not moaning, they are not wilting, they are not asking for pity, they are just getting in with defending their homeland. It's inspirational.

Hopefully these type of assaults are a domestic and international own goal in or terms.

Looks like logistics is a real issue for Russia. They banked on a quick victory and without it they are having to try and manage a massive supply chain across a huge country.

Another analyst pointed out that without fuel and ammunition they are having to abandon undamaged equipment which could now fall into Ukraine’s hands

just keep letting the armour through and take out the supplies that (should) follow. they'll soon get sick of waiting for fuel, food and so on... i mentioned before it was a tactic for us back in the cold war days and it's still valid today as they haven't changed that much.

On a more positive logistics note. As long as the Ukrainians can keep the Western border open they will be getting billions worth of weapons through the Polish border

This, if anything it's actually firing them up even more. Lighting bigger flames underneath them.

The more desperate Putin gets, I just hope he doesn't just resort to absolutely flattening the place. In addition to their own intelligence, I hope ourselves and the USA etc are providing intelligence regarding the next moves.

This is crackers, surely the Russians did not expect a walkover? They couldn't possibly be that naive man. It makes no sense.

Hoping to god that they actually have underestimated the Ukrainian forces like.
Read a really good piece last night which essentially said that people like Putin who think that a nation has no right to exist are likely to believe its people are likewise contemptible, and as someone who is obsessed with strength, that would equate to weak, in his eyes.

So I think its highly probable actually.

Great news, just hoping that the Russians don't try to intercept this, it could get even messier.

Apparently it’s one of the reasons why Russia have been trying to take airports in the West and around Kiev to fly things in. Looks like the Ukrainians have taken a scorched Earth approach and shelled the runways so that’s no longer an option. As such he may be limited to transporting on road routes hundreds/thousands of miles through hostile territory
