Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

We don’t exactly border Ukraine so if there’s no flights because airports are key strategic points and any planes will probably get blown up then how are Ukrainian refugees supposed to get here?
By flying from outside the country. They have to leave the country to apply for refuge in the first place, we have that requirement in place unlike most other countries who have dropped their restrictions.

I listened carefully today to a military strategist on Radio 5 Live who was advocating the Ukranian's do not try to "hold a position" around Kyiv ...he said that all the conventional Russian military was good for was picking off known targets. Invite them in to a hellacious Urban warfare was his recommendation.

Thanks

Are you sure of that?
Well, Jingoistic policy is typically aggressive & assertive foreign policy which in anyone's perspective is what we are seeing from Russia; unless mistaken that it is they who have invaded the Ukraine? So, I am not sure how you can label resisting such a behaviour in of itself characteristic of it.

Because it says you only care about yourself. Not your nation, flaws and all, and all that society has given to you.

I wouldn’t fight for the bastards who run my country either, but I’d sure as hell defend my nation to the death, notwithstanding said bastards.

To be honest, I find positions like yours pathetic.
It's literally meaningless for anyone to say they would do what the Ukrainians are doing right now.

Nobody knows until they're faced with that prospect what they would or wouldn't do in a situation that required something like that of them . Talk about it one way or another is completely worthless and devalues the act itself.

It’s a lot more complicated than that.
Think if Ireland was as strategic to both sides as Ukraine is in the ideologies of East and West

I’m still so angry about this. I know this ent be received well but if I was single I’d honestly go out there. Not as a war tourist but as a stance against something rotten in this world.
Not my country, not my war, but our spectator stance on this is disgusting

The most effective weapon against an occupying force is the IED
Cheap, easy to make, easy to hide, low risk and extremely effective.
If Russia do take some or all of Ukraine just flood the place with them.

That's operating under the assumption the fight is fair. Sadly might not be

Absolutely. Talk of cowardice from afar is by the by, admiration for the heroic Ukranians however is a different matter entirely...inspiring yet heartbreaking stuff.
