My brother in law served in Afghanistan as part of his service. (long before i knew him of course) Still affects him 40 years later
I kinda joke around about it but I’ve been out for 8 years and I still have moments.
Just little stupid things, like I overthink small situations like stuck in traffic, I think all possible outcomes (that never ever happen in our society) to the point I make myself anxious. Basically any situation I can’t take full control over and there’s a crowd. It’s frustrating because I can feel it coming on and I can’t stop it.

It’s nothing dangerous but I know it’s from being in certain situations and having certain training.

There’s a lot of people in a worse position that can’t control it so well.

For what? Absolute waste of young lads with probably young kids losing their life because of an unnecessary battle that is only happening to feed someone’s ego which like all dictators ends up being their downfall
I've said it a few times but Putin couldn't give a shit about Russia. His country are still suffering the consequences from the men lost in WW2.

Tragic as any death is we are a day in in which a large number of major offensives took place and there have been so far announced a relatively small number of deaths and military equipment losses (Considering this is an invading army of 200k against an army of 500k)

Says it all, this could go on for years, particularly if Ukraine put up an entrenched resistance

My wife was speaking to him and his family on Skype..they live in a dacha outside moscow now he is retired. He said everyone is very scared about the whole idea of war. In the end it has often been the ordinary russian people who suffer the most for the autocratic leadership they seem to always have --from the Tsars, through Stalin and onto this fellow. Maybe its the size of the country that makes it only governable by such a regime/dictator? Weird because culturally it is a remarkable place:
