Consensus now is coming round to the conclusion that Covid is man made as no link to an animal host has yet been found. You'd have to draw your own conclusions as to what the ultimate aim of manufacturing a virus would be. Personally I wouldn't totally discount the possibility of nefarious reasons.
Jesus wept.

Some stupid reporter on GBnews cannot understand why citizens if they want can pick up arms and defend their Country......unbelievable

What about Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia? Aren’t they part of nato and already border Russia.

What makes Ukraine different?
Kiev is such an historically important and iconic city to Russian and Soviet Empires. That’s why. They share the same statue of Saint Michael, seen as the founder of the Orthodox Church and empire.

Some facts - Since the dissolution of the USSR, Russia had a large military / naval base in Crimea. In 2014, the US overthrew Ukraine's government, aiming to make Ukraine an outpost for NATO or NATO's interests, and to kick Russia out of Crimea, which is an exceedingly valuable strategic point on the Black Sea.
In response to the US-orchestrated coup, Crimea, which had tried to leave Ukraine and rejoin Russia for decades, lawfully chose to join Russia. And the heavily Russian-ethnic regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine declared their independences from Ukraine and also sought to join Russia (but Russia didn't accept them).
This infuriated the US and NATO, which then proceeded to funnel weapons into Ukraine and train Ukrainian troops and also Nazis, and encourage Ukraine to not stop trying to take Donetsk and Lugansk back by force. Years ago, Ukraine also signed the Minsk accords, under which Ukraine agreed to grant Donetsk and Lugansk autonomy within Ukraine. But Ukraine never upheld the agreement and continued to try to retake Donetsk and Lugansk by force.
After 8 years of Donetsk and Lugansk being brutalised by Ukraine, Russia decided it'd had enough and finally recognised the independence declarations of Donetsk and Lugansk, and agreed to protect them, from Ukraine's attacks.
As Russia moved forces into Donetsk and Lugansk a day or two ago, the shelling of those regions by Ukraine's army stopped for a while. That was the first calm those regions had had in years. But then, for who knows what reason, Ukraine started heavily shelling those regions again, and shelled them all last night and today. And this time, Russia's military was in those regions. In response, Russia had launched missile strikes and some other operations against Ukraine, taking out Ukraine's air defences and airforce, as well as other military targets.

Mods can we ban any Russian bots please

And that maybe the issue sadly i know little of the history of this but regardless the people of Ukraine do not want to be part of Russia and that right should be protected. It’s an horrific dilemma to be in. Whilst I can’t stand Boris Johnson what a term he has had!

The 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis was about the Soviets siting missiles in Cuba, not 'joining the Warsaw pact'. The clue's in the name.

Cuba never joined the Warsaw Pact.

A modern equivalent might be the USA siting nuclear missiles in Ukraine, which they clearly didn't even try, but it didn't stop Vlad pissing his pants and breaking international law at the thought of. The yanks don't even have missiles in the Baltic States, Poland or Romania.

and if they attempted/aspired to as Ukraine are doing now?

Oh and..

Approximately 150 American B-61 nuclear gravity bombs are stationed in five countries in Europe: Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Turkey.
