That was never the issue. The issue is and always has been, that since they replaced the Russian puppet regime and turned to the west and democratic structures, Ukraine were showing that life was better away from the influence of Russia. In the eyes of Putin Ukraine has to fail, otherwise there will be other states where their people overthrow the puppets and turn to democracy and liberal freedoms. That is why we are seeing this war today.

Putin apologists…an interesting one. Given that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet and aren’t any strangers to playing games themselves along with the fact that western governments have played games for decades in just the same way Putin has it’s not wonder some people can see both sides.

The one and only concern for me at this time is keeping innocent civilians, Ukrainians and Russians, out of this and hope to god there is as few casualties/deaths as possible. Arseholes in power will always play their games….keep us minions out of it please.

I appreciate that I was referring the comment that Vlad considers the Ukraine joining Nato to be a threat as that would put Nato on his doorstep. To counter this he has invaded the Ukraine which moves his border further west on to Nato's doorstep

My point is that it’s not really an argument as other countries already bordered Russia the only difference is that Ukraine aren’t yet part of NATO. Concern is they don’t just stop in Ukraine - that’s not to take away from the fact that it’s horrendous that they are invading Ukraine.

I think a lot of people can actually see Putin’s side and why he’s done it. That doesn’t mean it’s right.
