Stocks n Shares ISA

No it’s still sitting there, I will be looking to invest more but cautious this time.
In April last year stock market was on its arse I thought it could only go one way long term and it’s paid off.
But this time will be less risk

I hindsight I should have moved a lot of cash into S&S this time last year, especially in US tackers . The S&P is up 60% from the bottom of the COVID crash

Aye, me too. Knew it would only go up (eventually) but we were on the lookout for a new house, thought there would be a dip so wanted the cash ready to pounce on that.

Didn't exactly work out well. Shares are well up, house prices are well up and I'm sitting with 1% increase in my cash. Ah well, live and learn.

All about risk though - easy in hindsight but at the time a 50% drop would have meant more to me than a 50% increase as it would have been the difference between house slightly more attainable vs not attainable at all.

Yeah I put a big chunk in last Feb and it dropped 35% over the next two weeks or so... Was wounded but it's recovered and I am in front on that deposit even after that hit. They're generally slow and steady the vanguards.

Totally mate, first 3 weeks I lost £300
I’m new to this but realised its long term investment
I’m generally a low risk person which doesn’t generate funds, but it’s what I can handle in my head

Stock market always goes down quicker than it goes up. You can get crashes but you won't see an overnight rise of 20% but over the long term the ups should add up to more than the downs.

Arcm , will be purchased sun a few weeks by American minerals . Uo from 4p to 8p on last month or so, talks of 25p once concluded
The more I read up on this the more I like it. Seems to be limited down side but massive up side. Happy to let it run for a year or two to see best returns. Thanks for the heads up.

I’ve bought in but there’s all kinds of shit flying around about various individuals in Zambia and this CASA company they’ve sold off but fingers crossed it’s all just background noise.

Yeah I’m not putting the house on it but could be a decent earner if it comes off. Expected more movement this week with the improved Casa sales terms and the investor call.

Does anyone know if I can somehow wrap shares I hold in Revolut into a S&S ISA?

And if so, how does tax work if I then sell those shares for a profit?

Read a good few articles about copper recently. All very positive about its place in the world with green energy being so important. 10yr high right now.

Cornish Metals Inc (CUSN)

Deep drill testing in historic Cornish mine areas, if they become productive, they will probably soar. I'm in 12,000 & up 25% or so.

Mods please merge this thread with What shares you buying?

I had some bad luck in my younger days losing a lot of money in shares when the company I was at went bust pretty much and the shares vanished into thin air. Covid wiped 50k off my pension almost overnight but now it has made that back plus another 35k on top. I think the main thing is to look to grow with as much risk appetite as you can stomach then reduce that risk the closer you get to packing in. Its long term aswell so checking everyday like I used to is pretty pointless and not worth the stress.

Thought I’d buy some shares tonight (nowt like capitalizing on the misery of others ☹️) but the FTSE 100 only went down 4% today.

Does that not feel like a small downturn for such a major event? I’d normally suggest it was baked in beforehand but the trend has still been upwards before today.

Mines dropped about 5.4% since about January the 10th, not including todays drop.

Couldn't have opened it at a worse time
