Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Putin doesn't want to recognise the separatist areas as a separate country. He wants the Minsk II agreement to be signed by Ukraine. Then the two separatist areas of Luhansk and Donetsk with be given a high level of autonomy but reintegrated back into Ukraine where they will hold a veto over Ukraine ever joining the EU or NATO. Two regions under direct Russian control.

It's a bit like us leaving the EU but Wales and Scotland remaining under EU influence and control while still being members of the UK and having representatives in the UK parliament. Hardly surprising the Ukrainian people are so against it that no politician in the Ukraine dare even support it.
How does an invasion help this aim?

All he had to do was keep arming the separatists, fund the Wagner group to support them and some atrocity or other would have occurred giving him a reason to enter for the 'protection' of Russian citizens. But instead he opted to act as observer to a settlement agreement brokered between two EU countries and wait five years before coming up with this cunning plan.

Looking ominous, question is how to create a situation for Putin to back down without looking weak to his domestic audience?

Boots on the ground or Germans refusing their exports are the 2 viable options, neither which will happen

The yanks are pretty convinced something's happening soon, they've evacuated their diplomats from Kyiv to a city near the Polish border instead after further developments the past hour or so.

So Putin doesn't want Ukraine in NATO or in the EU because it will mean Russia then borders a country in the EU and or NATO so he's going to seize Ukraine and annex it for Russia which then essentially puts the border of Russia with Poland who are members of ???

Russia borders with 3 NATO countries already.

Just with Ukraine it's a bit like your ex joining Tinder, she's found a new lad and she's shagging someone else when he hasn't gotten over her yet and he's throwing a tantrum about it.

Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe.

When you're behind the likes of Romania you know you're in a shithole.

Kyiv is literally a timewarp back to Medieval England but with Internet... I thought someone was gonna offer is a jousting battle at 1 point when I was there
