Organised Protest

I don't care how 'Mag-esque' it is, I don't care how many sarcy comments people make, I'll just hit 'ignore' on them, I don't care how many people do a hilarious misspelling of boycott, and I don't care how many people claim that people who protest aren't 'true supporters'.

The club we love, and have spent our lives loving, has been taken over by leeches. Dishonest, incompetent chancers who have taken money out of the club, employed their mates and other assorted idiots, criticised the fans, put nothing back into the club, and delivered the four worst teams in our 143 year history. When the three original chancers were found out, they just went out, found another one, hid behind him, and pretended they sold the club - when all they had done was add another chancer to the mix.

They have taken the piss out of our loyalty, knowing that our fatal flaw is that, EVERY season since we have been in League One (apart from the season behind closed doors), we have had higher attendances than any other club has ever managed at this level. 38395 of us were there last Saturday. That's incredible. It should also be embarrassing for the owners.

The shambles of the managerial situation, and the non appointment of Roy Keane is a watershed moment. It was (rightly or naively) the last light at the end of the tunnel. It has just been switched off.

Already there are lots of individuals coming to the conclusion they have had enough. I completely understand it, and right now I feel that way myself. It will also change nothing.

The club we love will never progress until these people are gone. Supporters of clubs in far, far healthier positions than us have organised protests on various issues, and they have often worked.

It is way past time that we arranged a protest. I don't claim to know what that looks like, or how it would work. But this is now an existential crisis for the club, and it is way past time that as supporters, we fought back against it.
What's the point! Back Neil.

I'm fairly certain you don't even go to games, and you come up with this in response to someone who has had enough at the state of our club, and is willing to get off their arse and do something because they want better for the club they love. Absolute pathetic man.

No, not violence, just a hostile environment.
What would you like to happen? I mean what is the goal? Have X and Y leave the club? What will that alter and improve?

We have a manager now. Do you want him sacked and someone else to come in and pay over the odds for whomever you tell them?

Yes we laugh at the mags when they do this kind of thing, but it is for this reason, because it's aimless ranting in public.

Should have happened 10 years ago. Bit late now and will achieve absolutely nowt.

It would never have happened in premier ship with the yank in charge. When huge sums of money are being pissed up the wall we are happy with incompetence.

Go to bed, a new era starts tomorrow. It might only last 18 months but it’s a new era.

Maybe part of the idea is to demonstrate to the owners and to others that low standards at present aren't acceptable? Most non-Sunderland fans think we accept this shite - it has an impact. By the way, when RAWA asked for Donald and Methven to go, they sold some of their stake and are no longer majority shareholders. Same with the Red Card Protest - we were sold to Drumaville and better times came. So no, fan action is not 'aimless' it's actually quite effective.

I'm not ITK, just speculating that KLD will want to appease the fans in some way.

I think he’s been trying to do that the last two weeks by sacking the manager, employing Defoe and trying to get Keane. Iam sure he’s learned a lesson
I ain’t going back. I don’t care what anyone thinks either, last Saturday I worked the Saturday morning and then went to the game, I got home at 630 and my son was going to bed at 7 and I just sat and thought what an absolute idiot I am for going over there and wasting my afternoon. No enjoyment and a waste of money and time I could have had with my family, I’m done now.

Everyone, like me has a choice to do whatever they please but please just bare it in mind the next game you go to those owners (whoever the owner is) don’t care one little bit about you or the club and are taking your support for granted when they don’t deserve us.

We all have a choice and I don’t blame you, it is soul destroying down here

Another small step fans have taken when boycotting boards is unfollowing their social accounts. Sounds silly and trivial but it does actually impact them when their follower numbers drop

Why would we protest? Maybe against the forum and fans as we were the ones to protest to get LJ out. Keane wanted bucket loads of money and had demands you can’t do at league 1 level. Will the fans in year 5 at league 1 realise that’s our level and budget? The comments on here are like we have a right to be higher?! We were a shambles for years in the premier league somehow surviving and that was despite huge overspends on players and worse still poor managers. We’re now at our level sadly…

We are NOT at our level. This is absolute bollocks. We should be better than fighting to finish in a play-off position in L1. That's the perfect example of the acceptance of low standards that's seeped into our fanbase from a normally decent poster.

It is what it is at this point, of course its not our level but the reality is we are pretty much fighting for a play off place.

Is it the level we should be at? No
Is it the level we are at? Yes.

You can only start a journey from where you are. The old "Well, if I was you, I wouldn't start from here" is still as unhelpful as it ever was.

Get a f***ing grip, you sound like the retards up the road, give your head a shake.
I couldn't disagree more with this post, despite what we have had to put up with in the last five years we are a very tolerant and laid back fanbase. We have suffered back to back relegations finishing bottom of the table and this is our 4th season and looking likely to be a fifth in the third division. We have SD and CM who are still pulling the strings in the background, who are a couple of charlatans who couldn't run a bath never mind a club this stature. They have constantly lied and taken the fans for mugs.

As for the "retards up the road", you can't compare us to them, especially with the predicament we're in. They were protesting when they were mid table in the Premier League ffs!

We are tolerant because we are Mackems and it’s the course, we haven’t suffered back to back relegations fact. We have a couple of fuckwits pulling the strings who mortgaged the club and earnt extra to the tune of 20 + milllion plus on us an our forefathers Fact. It’s painful and these chartlantans continue to rinse us further. And yes they are are retards,I would like to think we would never carry a coffin. Retards they are.
