I can't believe people are questioning his average playing career. You look at all the top managers in the last 20 years and they either never played at a high level (Mourinho, Wenger, Benitez) or they were absolutely shite.

It is very rare you get a great player make a great manager. It does happen but it's very rare.

I'd guess the reason why people who've never played at a high level or were average players make better managers is because they love the game and want to prove in the dugout what they couldn't prove on the pitch as a player.

Neil already has a solid CV as manager. Like Norwich were I think he will be a good fit here
Also you can’t teach natural talent…some players that don’t have the goods physically had to think their way around the pitch and have a perspective that relates to teaching. Imagine Messi or Ronaldo saying just do what I would do…

The owners have really messed our season up mind. If he'd came in 2 games ago...
Not if he takes us up and they are proven right to have explored all options.

We can't judge this decision until the season is over.

I just feel too many of the Keane fanboys will not give him a fair chance to succeed.

Yep. Gutted to see him leave iirc

This is no better than Johnson if truth be told. If it is, it's minor improvement.
Even though all the evidence says it is!

I know you’re looking for a bite as you’re just posting the same monotonous stuff over and over again. Happy to oblige, but truth be told if someone’s talking rubbish I need to point it out.

Promoted, relegated, sacked… great stint as manager, just what we need! Awful appointment it truly is. Sooner go for a young up and coming manager than pick this fella off the EFL has been merry go round!
Aye you’re right mate he’s f***ing shite. Honestly you can’t even have a bit of debate on here, there’s absolutely no f***ing middle ground. Either amazing or utter shit

Neil will get you up. Might be too late to do anything this time round but what he can do is prepare for a title win next season with the right foundations to survive and thrive in the Championship.
He won’t get that amount of time judging by the reaction of some.

We'll seen soon enough...

Happy to revisit this in 12 months and admit I'm wrong if that's the case. If not, I'm sure you'll have an excuse no doubt.

Show me a manager who has never been sacked and have seen relegation and I will show you an up and coming manager who will get us promoted.

Yep. Depressingly predictable. Had a decent half season in 2015 and nothing else. Parkinson/Grayson appointment.

Don’t talk shite. I wanted him before LJ and I wanted him as soon as LJ was sacked. If I could be arsed to trawl through this board or my fb posts I would find the evidence but to be honest, I can’t. He’s the outstanding candidate seeing as though Wilder is no longer available.
I’m talking shite because i dont have the same opinion as you?

How is he not young? He's managed 2 clubs, one of which he took to the Premier league. Seems like an up and coming manager to me. Not many managers at 40 with his record surely?
