Alex Neil - New head coach confirmed

This time yesterday there was the potential for hope. If a bottom half league 1 side appointed Alex Neil nobody would bat an eye lid. We needed someone to set standards and the drag the whole club up. Today we have a man who spent his career playing for airdrie, Mansfield and Hamilton.
And yet I’m guessing he’s still achieved more in his life than you. Potential for hope? Ffs, let’s all hold hands and send our wishes out to the universe

Think we will be having exactly the same conversation this time next year after Alex Neil has been sacked. We will be in exactly the same position (play off's in league 1), giving it shit about the idiots in charge of the club.
Wrong appointment at the wrong time, but it gives an unemployed bloke a contract for a year and a half. I am just waiting for the ''get behind the manager'' messages to come out, and everything will continue as normal.
Alex Neil must have no pride or must be bloody desperate to take this basket case of a job, after Keane turned it down.
The perverse irony is if we go up in the playoffs the bedwetters will be thoroughly maligned.
Then around this time next year, Neil will have been sacked with Sunderland 4th Bottom and you asset strip in L1 and get away with it, but the championship the shower of s**** running our club haven't a hope.

There was a verbal agreement in place last week and they couldn’t do it, I’m happy to be called for it but you’ll realise the last few I shut up, only commented when people said Andy Reid was going to be the assistant manager and I went against everyone. So you can pipe down you little worm
😂😂😂😂

I don’t think appointing Alex Neil is the problem…it was keeping Johnson after last season. If Neil comes out Saturday and has the team pressing and playing a high tempo, in your face kind of game…who’s not gonna enjoy that?? At the very least it will be something entirely different than what the last 5 managers provided!
You're probably right re. Johnson even thought I thought different at the time in hindsight he should have gone

What I would say is we’ve gone out and appointed better than we had. That’s a positive. And had he been appointed before Doncaster I’d not have been surprised if we went up. Might even have accepted it was an appointment that made sense. Attacking manager, pro youth, promotion from championship on his cv.

After the way we’ve been embarrassed by the club over the last week in every single way possible. How can anyone be expected to find any degree of enthusiasm. I just think- whatever

Keane, clearly. If you check every new manager thread ever on this forum it follows the same pattern. Everyone is horrified at the quite clearly dire appointment (Grayson, Parkinson, Johnson etc) before then convincing themselves they are going to be fantastic. They’re always shite as these people are nobodies, what has Alex Neil ever achieved in football? A lower league Scottish plodder who’s career highlight was playing for Hamilton Academical.

Compare that to one of the best midfielders of his generation who dragged this club from the bottom of the championship. This is just so tinpot and typical of this ownership.
Using that logic… Bobby Moore was probably the best midfielder this country has produced. He was an absolutely bobbins manager.

Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger both played less than 100 games at lower league levels. I’d say that Alex Neil had a better playing career than them.

And yet despite their lack of playing success, Mourinho has won 25 major trophies and Wenger 21 in their careers.

Go figure, eh?
