Hes better than any of our managers we have had since we were in the championshipMcCann is a disgraceful choice, can’t believe we’ve sunk this low.
Read it properly, I said DID THEY SAY he signed at 6.40 cos the deadline was 7pmBut didn't you say he'd signed specifically at 6:40 yesterday?
that's my reading of the last two weeks...My bet is on the latter and it stinks.
If everyone does that, there is no club. Is that really what you want? Whoever comes in will have my full support. That's what you do. The problem is that people have got too much emotionally invested in this; we seem to have a sentimental streak wider than the Atlantic. I've learned that getting overstressed over things I can't control is unhealthy.
I was never convinced that Keane was the right choice anyway, but I'd have accepted it if he had come in. The word is that it's now between McCann, Neil and Lamouchi. For me, Neil 1st, the Lamouchi, then McCann.
Yes, it's not exactly encouraging, is it? Then you see what we see: the team imploding once they're not winning, the poor fucker Dodds hung out to dry, the abject decision making etc. Then he gets to meet them in person. Maybe he asks them questions. Maybe he doesn't like their answers. Maybe he looks at it in the round & says to himself, nah, I'll stick with dog-walking. Or maybe he even thinks, if I hang on a bit longer, I might get a better offer elsewhere. Who knows? But one thing I think is fair to say about Keane: he's no fool. The simple fact it’s taken 11 days might be a good start
If it was some cook at the club or whatever I wouldn’t have even said anything but the person who told me is from the first team and they said it was done and he’d be there Saturday etc and that’s obviously what the club thought. They’ve possibly been naive, amateurish or underestimated Keane but it looks like it’s backfired however until we appoint a new manager there’s always hope!
This, definitely. He’d have made himself available and would have had realistic expectations.Keane is not an idiot, he will know that league one clubs can’t pay 50/60K a week. Perhaps it was the contract length, or the fact that he would be answering to imposters.
Either way, he absolutely desperate for a job so it’s even more bizarre we couldn’t reach a deal. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.
Maybe, Dave. Maybe not. We might never know.2 options. 1 - he wont work with hierachy. 2 - taking too long to sort.
Alternatively he's making them look fools so they offer him job asap.
All in all our board is shit
Both points closely linked together. Simple. Not mind boggling
They might also remember the buzz they got on a match day, looking forward to press conferences, brilliant away days with last minute winners…being a relevant club in English football. There’s no question it would have been a risk, it probably wasn’t the long term solution, but it certainly would have breathed a bit of life and excitement into the club. Something not had in far too long. Can't say I'm that bothered. If people take the rose tinted specs off they'll remember he got us promoted by wasting a shitload of money on loads of players, most of whom weren't good enough.
Nobody said he was in the running,he was one of the candidates interviewed. End off.
