Nothing to do with money ffs. He's not an idiot - he knows what League One managers get paid and if he was money-driven, he wouldn't even have shown an interest.

This is all down to the glorified organiser of youth-team parents' evenings Speakman, protecting his corrosive little "philosophy" and not wanting to be challenged by someone with actual football experience.

100%

It’s above scandalous the failures of this club.

We’re gonna end up with another run of the mill cart horse.

Imagine being the poor fucker who gets the job now. Won't stand a chance from the off.
This. Was just going to post similar. Whoever it's offered to will know they are on a hiding to nothing. In fact that could put off some enough not to touch it now.

What a sorry mess this is. I was hoping we'd get him and we could bloody move on. But now what.

Jesus it's never dull supporting us. Generally always absolutely shite but never dull.

Doddsy in charge for another few games

Whoever's appointed now knows they weren't first choice, or the fans choice. Great start lads, nice one

That’s me done.
i dont think you will be the only one, if the choice of manager isnt right.

I dont necessarily think its the loss of keane pissing people off ( i personally want to see him in), its the massive emotional kick in the bollocks from potentially having defoe and keane come back, to some shit no mark manager and rancid team performances. The extremes of feel good to feeling shit have been massive this time and i can see why for some they are at the end of the tether after the last few years.

That's me done for this season. We'll end up with a League 1 plodder, lose in the play offs and be back here again in 12 months time. We had a genuine out and blew it.

In previous interviews he's actually said that he would manage us "in the conference" if asked.

I don't think those performances would have affected him.

IF he's turned us down it'll be for other reasons.

I think 2 games ago he would have probably took the chance on a short contract with another year if we get promoted. Since then we have shown literally cant beat the worse team in the league at home in front of 39k fans. I'd imagine he's demanded some assurances he will be manager next season and we haven't given it. if he was out of work it would be a risk worth taking but he isn't out of work he'd be leaving a decent contract with Sky and ITV in a World cup year.

It's definitely a wait til it comes along next time job like. I wouldn't touch it this time with a barge pole.
