Not Roy Keane

It's a shame if true. The lift he would've given the fans could've helped us get out this poor run of form that we're in.

It'll be interesting to see how the club acts now. Do they try and appease some fans by appointing a name like Lennon or Warnock or do they go with some chancer like McCann and to hell with the fans?

Imagine being the poor fucker who gets the job now. Won't stand a chance from the off.

Especially if it's McCann or Lennon. They'd basically have to go on a serious win streak from the off, which seems almost impossible the amount of goals our defence is conceding.

Lennon would not appease our fans, not at all.

What the hell is going on at the club Roy Keane was never going to work under a director of football and would never take a job for just three months.
Speakman has cost us any chance of getting promoted this season 😒

Hopefully it is true. People want to start getting their feet back onto planet reality. Keane hasn't managed for years, and actually left here under a bit of a black cloud, and while I'm on Jermain Defoe, whilst being a really nice guy, is way past his sell by date, and signing him has been a massive distraction, both during the closing days of the transfer window, and since his arrival!

Not fussed mate? I think Keane would have galvanised the fans, but there are questions around his management style. I don't know who I want really, but names like Neil, Lennon and McCann don't excite me at all.
Said from the start i didn’t want him mate. I think the game has moved on a lot since he was viable. He’s also not done a lot in his managerial career to be someone I would desperately want back. I believe he was only relatively successful here because of the bottomless pit of money that he was allowed to spunk.

Article there now in the Athletic. Doesn’t say much more than he was offered it on Wednesday but sounds like it’s fallen through

I didn’t want Keane in charge when it was first mooted. I just couldn’t see why we’d be going for a bloke who hasn’t managed in twelve years and I couldn’t see how it fit with the approach we’re taking but once the shortlist become evident, out of him or the likes of Lennon and McCann, I warmed to it a bit more but it wouldn’t have been my first option.

I’ve been wary that all of the names, Keane, included are out of work managers.

FFS everyone could see this was going to happen.

The very qualities that made us want Keane - exacting standards; great knowledge of the game at the highest levels; doesn't suffer fools gladly - are exactly why he has sacked off this amateurish bunch of wankers running our club.

lennon would need to be off like a rocket, who knows, loada shit if we end up barrel scraping.

That said canny chance for someone with some fight, sometimes you can dig it out and make people eat their words. Not over yet by a long way.
