I don't really have an issue with him being given the chance. We've all done jobs "for the first time" at some point.Tbh he had a different job at Birmingham than he has here, why we let him do stuff he never has before is beyond me.
Something like that, was in charge of development of the youth and what not and we decided to put him in an almost CEO role it seems.Academy manager was it?
Only here would he be given the authority to rule....KLDs proper swallowed his bait.
At least Donald has fucked off where he isnt seen, Methven is the worst of the worst, absolute parasite that wont fuck off."Sunderland's top brass - Louis-Dreyfus, sporting directorYou must be logged on to see external links, chief operating officer Steve Davison, non-exec director David Jones, and minority shareholderYou must be logged on to see external links- was at Whaddon Road last night and they should feel deeply, deeply, ashamed at what is happening on their watch"
honestly past the point in caring when that f***ing prick is still involved and hanging around
Isn't that why clubs change managers, because the manager has lost the players for whatever reason? If a coach or manager turned the job down because the players have lost the plot then they're in the wrong business. So get used to it. The players have lost the plot so who in their right mind would come here?
Eh?Roy Keane as manager?
Since when?
Methven's ego wouldn't allow him to do thatAt least Donald has fucked off where he isnt seen, Methven is the worst of the worst, absolute parasite that wont fuck off.
I think its bad days, but early days. So he'll have organised recruitment, coaching structures, preparation all of the stuff is transferable. The issue has been getting the right first team head coach for me with the right experience. Johnson wasn't what he needed to compliment him. This is a big appointment for that reason and is why i'm not sure about McCann or a less experienced coach. They need to know what a big club needs. Keane, Neil and probably even Lennon fit the bill in that way - we need the right personality with it though .I don't really have an issue with him being given the chance. We've all done jobs "for the first time" at some point.
My issue with it is that he has been allowed to continue, when he has been shown to be incapable of fulfilling his role.
Good points mate, but I still feel that Keane is the ONLY appointment they can make.I think its bad days, but early days. Spot onMy guess would be:
- Club never intended to get Keane (They had Mccann or someone else entirely in mind)
- Keane has expressed interest and has approached club
- Club thinking 'We don't want him but we'll have speak to him anyway'
- Us fans want Keane
- Club have been unable to contain the media speculation about Keane (due to total inexperience/incompetence of dealing with a story about a personality of that stature)
- Club have thought 'Oh shit, better open negotiations'
- They have also thought 'It's okay, we can save this, let's play him along'
- 'Oh shit, he's just more or less announced to the public on TV that he feels the job is almost his due to our piss poor tactics ballsing up'
- Us fans getting massively excited at the prospect of a legend coming back to sort us out
- 'It's okay KLD, I (Speakman) will downplay it at the game tomorrow against Doncaster on SAFC fans TV announcing we are still carrying out our process, that will surely buy us time'
- 'Shit, getting pasted by doncaster hasn't helped'
- 'Oh bugger, Keane has again dropped a huge hint to fans that he feels he is frontrunner today on TV'
- 'Don't say anything for a few days, we can ride this out, the fans will be able to cope with it a week more'
- 'KLD, we've just been pasted by Cheltenham, I don't know what we should do, I'll ask Davison, Methven and Donald'
- 'KLD, it's now Wednesday, 10 days since we have sacked Johnson and I've asked around and no one has a clue - I say we leave it until next week until fan anger has cooled then we'll get our man in, Keane will walk away, job done'.

Lack of communication is a disgrace, they need to fill the void, absolute basics...I cannot believe there hasn't been any sort of update from the club this morning, staggering. Are we 100 per cent sure the names bandied around are correct and there’s not someone else no one is aware of -? because there is no info from anywhere that seems it can be collaborated
Asking for …..myself ?
( the lack of communication is astounding!)
If this happens there will be a lot of fans walking away too.Spot on![]()
