When he signed last time He had no managerial experience whatsoever! We have tried the parky clones ,the cheap and the delusional gobshite and non have worked ....time for something different! We need to start a new journey with a refurbished BUS ,a new driver and a new tour operator,we need to have enough fuel to reach or destination and the bus needs to be an express with comfy seats and not some pseudo rikshaw going nowhere fast as were on now.But Keane has been out of management work for years now.
Recruitment has been very good and is the least of our problems. We had Defoe, Matete, Roberts, Clarke, Hume and Dajaku on the bench on Saturday. We have had injuries but McGeady, O Neinn, Wright, Broadhead and Huggins back soon.Recruitment hasn't been dreadful. But there's areas where it hasn't addressed what we need. I think a more forceful personality like Keane could help with that personally.
think I would be tbf, if they actually played that isReally?
I think he's been great.
I'm really happy with his transfers.
Hope you're right but I can't help thinking the delays with this and the Defoe stuff has us looking too much into it.My thoughts exactly mate. Seem to love a bit of a wind up these days.
Yes, but the lines of demarcation and what power lies where within the structure are important... we don't know what that is, so it's perfectly reasonable to assume it may be a point of discussion, and maybe a sticking point. Rightly or wrongly.I'm not saying there wouldn't be a power struggle for sure, but I'm not 100 percent convinced that Keane would refuse to be a head coach as many believe.
He has publicly acknowledged that the game has changed massively since he retired (and on that assumption he also means since he was last here).
He wouldn't have even entertained declaring interest in the job had he wanted to be an old fashioned hands on everything manager overseeing recruitment etc unless he hadn't done his homework on us.
Again, it is my strong belief that he is massively misunderstood as an individual. He's extremely sharp minded and for someone who is paid to watch Premierleague and International football closely, he surely must be someone who understands that a DOF setup appears (to potentially) be the future model throughout the game.
Yes the bloke has an ego but I think he'd be smart enough to change with the times. That applies to his man management as well. Provided a player is prepared to strive to meet standards and give it their all with the right attitude, then I think he would be prepared to cope with league 1 players making the odd mistake here and there without resorting to heavy handed tactics. I think he has mellowed of recent.
I may be wrong but that's my view.
I bloody well hope it's announced very soon.
Daily mail or another source?Keane in advanced talks
That clears that up then. BummerJust you...you radge
I’m getting the wordI'm hearing that it's all done and will be announced later today
edit: Oops, this isn't the Oscar nominations thread![]()
Good, do you know what they are doing with the pitch?Work is going on this week. Started yesterday.
Just drove past AOL and all quiet. Thanks for telling him, you don't have far to walk Andy.
Oh, agreed 100 percent.Yes, but the lines of demarcation and what power lies where within the structure are important... we don't know what that is, so it's perfectly reasonable to assume it may be a point of discussion, and maybe a sticking point. Rightly or wrongly.
Director of football - OK, sure.
Fuhrer of football - stick it up yer bollocks.
Go back with another deal, and another, and another, until he is happy. If Keane rejects the deal
Who would you accept
He wants it, he needs it, it's precious.Alex Neil through gritted teeth from the list we know of
Go back with another deal, and another, and another, until he is happy.
Speakman is not immune to the chop..if the system is right you just replace the head..sadly i dont think the system is established enough to support losing its figurehead and i think thats how speakman likes it!over to you KLD.If we dont appoint Keane and we fail again to get promoted our season tickets will drop below 20 thousand and we will lose our better players and more league one beckons as the financial constraints will get worse as our revenue plummets! That’s what happened last time and it ended up with Johnson getting the job when Poyet decided “the way the club want things” wasn’t right.
Looking at a similar disappointment here I am afraid: Speakman has done very little to justify it being his way or the Highway.
You could change yours to boring dick and yours would be too marra ...Apt username
Ya probably right fella.Hope you're right but I can't help thinking the delays with this and the Defoe stuff has us looking too much into it.
I think our club failed over the next 3-4 year because of power strugglesThink he comes?
