Anyone reckon Speakman was in contact with McCann before LJ was even sacked and it played a role in the decision being taken to get rid of him. I think Speakman thought McCann was a done deal and wasn’t expecting the curveball of Keane throwing his hat in the ring.
Well that's what I thought initially. McCann was the first person I thought of when LJ was peddled. I'd have been happy for it to happen as well until like you say Keane emerged.

There’s them that think they knaar but divn’t knaar
And
There’s them that knaar they divn’t knaar (like me)
There is nowt to knar at the minute,
It is. Don't know why the hold up of the announcement.

I meant as in his pathetic drivel Saturday prior to the game.
Sorry but it's not done at all, we'll not at 9pm last night it was'nt

We are fast becoming a laughing stock. How has a club like SAFC got itself in a position where we have Speakman calling the shots and putting two absolute no marks with no experience whatsoever in charge of first team affairs for 2 games. I’m losing my patience with this shit show of a club. All of my family made a massive effort to go at the weekend (haven’t been due to Covid and a range of other reasons) and we’re disgusted by what the club offered. Get RK in now and salvage some pride FFS.
How about something like this?

Perhaps Speakman gave the 3 stooges the following brief "We are not going to rock the boat and risk upsetting any players by meddling with the squad. LJ had lost the dressing room and the 6-0 was a direct result of that. It wasn't a true reflection of the playing squad's ability. Anyway, I picked that team and formation for LJ and we are going to stick with it.

I'd like any potential new manager to be able to see for themselves what we are and are not capable of"

I'll have to go off here...and the other site.. for the rest of the night now. They are both doing my head in and getting no further forward with news.
Let's face it....there are no leaks, no one knows anything.
Well I did and surprise surprise I missed sweet FA.
Going to try and limit it today as well until the match tonight.

What could they possibly ask in an interview for a football manager?

Their performance and ability is public knowledge, we can all see if they play young players, how they play and a quick phone call to a few people will determine if they are a twat or not.

I'm a bit concerned that Speakman might be seeing bringing on saleable cash assets like Embleton , Neil , Cirkin, Hoff (if we ultimately sign him on option) etc as preferable to winning to validate his roll

If Speakman is doing that then I'd very very concerned.

I am no longer convinced that Keane is coming back.
I doubt if the man himself is convinced that Sunderland want him badly enough.
Hope to hell I am wrong.

I don't think that's true otherwise his demeanour at the weekend would have been different. I think the only way he's not coming If speakman gets his way and wants mccan.

The longer this goes on the more credibility the club loses.
Ridiculous to sack Johnson and McAllister and leave Dodds and Proctor in charge-
Ridiculous to ship out Flanagan and Younger and not have a cast iron certainty coming into replace them.
Ridiculous to have been left in a position where Keane could walk into the interview room and not be an equal but one up to KLD's and Speakman's one down, with all the clamour, all the noise for his appointment.
I'm bored with this now. A sense whatever happens it's going to be an anti-climax.
If it's Keane it should have been announced by now.
This feels like coitus interruptus.
You know, when you're so keen to get on the vinegar strokes and something spoils it.
Flanagan younger and Alves….

Trying to read between the lines I'd say this waiting is almost guaranteeing Keane's going to be your new manager.

Why?
Because his body language spoke volumes as well as his answer when asked if he was going to be the new Sunderland manager. He said " the contract has to be right, you can't just jump in" or words to that effect.

That told me that negotiation would be likely long and drawn out with both parties ensuring they come to a middle ground where all parties are happy.
This'll likely include Keane's backroom staff and obviously wages, bonuses, and length of contract based on many variables.

The owners will likely not want to be backed into a corner and nor will Keane, so it makes sense for this to happen.

If I had my last million and had to bet it I'd bet it on Keane being your new manager, likely to be unveiled before the weekend.
Whether he ends up being the right man for the job remains to be seen but I think he's going to be your boss.
