Edwards seems adamant Keane has been offered it. He’s perplexed as to why there’s been briefing to the contrary and seemingly think it shows incompetence / people out of their depth operating under the microscope

He doesn't know for sure though...I'm just trying to not discount possible scenarios.

Do you just sit and think of random scenarios ? This is about the 4th possible situation you’ve posted today.
Called throwing things out there. Better than posting 'ffs announce' every 20 minutes

Edwards sounded fairly close to keane when he was at Ireland from what he said on BBC.

I agree mate. I genuinely am concerned how 99% of our fan base are going on like Keane is the next Alex Ferguson when the reality is he’s not managed a team in years and hasn’t achieved anything as a manager after he left us. Rosy eyes won’t get us promoted
The nobodies who are the alternatives certainly won’t.

Roy Keane is once in a blue moon type of appointment, you don’t pass on that, if it doesn’t work out, that’s fair enough, at least we broke the mould and tried him, then we can get back on the all in inspiring league 1 managerial round about then go through all those mingers again until we get it right
It will either go really well or end in tears.

11 years ago he almost got Ipswich relegated and achieved the longest run they had ever encountered without a win.

However 14 years ago he got us promoted to the premier league.

My point is, he’s done nothing either way since and the fan hysteria isn’t warranted. I mean there has to be someone better out there than someone who last achieved something as a manager 14 years ago

Agreed that it could go pear shaped, but so could Mccann or anyone else.

The lift we would get under Keane is why is stands apart from the other possible appointments.

BY god we bloody need a lift now, anything. Mccann or Neil or whoever else isn't going to give us that now.

I mean you can turn it on me if you like but feel free to show I’m wrong and put how much he has achieved in the last 11 years down to contradict what I said and prove me wrong? I’d be delighted if I am and he gets the job, but I fear hearts are ruling heads here.

If it’s someone like McCann is appointed would it mean heads are ruling?

90+ new pages since I checked the thread this morning, can someone sum what I’ve missed up in one sentence?
Nothing, another thread has sourced information that it’s 100% between Keane and McCann, which has nearly wiped out all optimism on here
