To me it still sounds like they want Keane, they're in negotiations with him, but they're doing other interviews so that, if Keane says no (which we all know is a possibility with keane), they've done as much as they can in terms of vetting other potentials so they can get one of them in without wasting any more time

Has keane played a blinder here? Had a chat and wants it, gets ItV to ask him about it and whip the fans up into a frenzy knowing they'll want him. Leak to journalists that he's been offered it.

Speakman then comes up and says it isn't done which leads to hell on within the fan base. Club under increasing pressure to give in to keanes demands.

Roy Keane is once in a blue moon type of appointment, you don’t pass on that, if it doesn’t work out, that’s fair enough, at least we broke the mould and tried him, then we can get back on the all in inspiring league 1 managerial round about then go through all those mingers again until we get it right
 
I'm hoping Edwards/someone else has just looked into it too much and the truth is that there were several minor things to be ironed out with good reason until it could be made official.

I honestly fear for the reaction if it's not Keane now.

It's going to be toxic as **** otherwise.

I agree. Unpopular opinion mind. He might class, he might be shite. I wouldn't lose sleep at not appointing him though.

Edwards seems adamant Keane has been offered it. He’s perplexed as to why there’s been briefing to the contrary and seemingly think it shows incompetence / people out of their depth operating under the microscope

He's never left the stadium since last week. If you play back the ITV program back from Friday you can actually tell its a hologram of him.
