Like has been said before on here it’s been so badly handled that questions should be asked of Speakman. West Brom were swift and decisive in getting rid of their manager and having the replacement straight in.
That’s what we needed to do in getting rid of Johnson. Taking this length of time looks like amateur hour and serious questions should be asked of all as it looks like no forward planning at all.

Can't see I'm excited about Neil or McCann but I can see a case for them and the case for Roy is sentiment and wishful thinking.
I don't mind Neil too much, but there's no case for McCann or Lennon, IMO.

If you're not good enough to win over the fans at a club with much less pressure than Sunderland, you're not going to be a success here. I'd put it to you that the case for Keane is he's been at our club before, proven he can be a success here, and has a ready made connection with the fans. That's not just about sentimentality, but momentum and motivation. Bringing in a plodder who nobody wants and would be on a hiding to nothing from the start would be disastrous, not just for our promotion hopes but fans' trust in the ownership.

top 2 is definitely beyond our reach. We need someone to come in & stamp their authority on the place and get the players organised, restore some confidence to hopefully get us into the play offs. But most importantly pick the right fkn team, and make the right subs at the right time!

Agreed with your thoughts, still think we could go up automatically with the right gaffer and a bit luck. Although looks less and less likely by the week.

That article does say that they've been sorting out contractual arrangements over the weekend. If that's the case then there won't be another interview and it would align with Keane's comments on Friday night.

For all we know it could be Keane's side holding up any deal. Given that automatic promotion is now dead, I don't think it matters too much whether he's in before Tuesday or not, it's not like he's going to be able to do much with one training session. Before the weekend is a different matter mind.

Everything that the club have done over the last month or so both in terms of our transfer business and the whole management debacle screams out that we're still an absolute basket case. Those clownshoes running the show are in for one hell of a shock if they think we'll be averaging anywhere near 30k when we're stuck in this league for a 5th consecutive season.

Another Ellis Short situation looms if KLD just gives these fuckers money and lets them take the absolute piss like they are at the minute.

Are we any further forward after a year of speakman and KLD running the show? In the table we arent tbh.
People ignored a lot of major red flags early on about their ability to run a club of this size in exactly the same way as a lot of people, me included, did with Donald and Methven.

Speakman is getting all of the flak at the minute but KLD is getting off incredibly lightly in his role in this shambles.

And all the while the games are dwindling.
Lose on Tuesday and we have 15 left...
We need action now, they dont have time ffs!!

I'm genuinely shocked tbh. Speakman keeps saying they're always looking at the next coach.

The club is still clearly a complete joke
If it is clearly a joke Keane will have picked up on that. Maybe just maybe he has back heeled us hence yesterday’s strange interview from Speakman.
