Roy Keane

Watching Roy Keane on ITV just now I had a sense he was showing people he’s aware how stress can impact footballers and their families. He was talking about the return of Harvey Elliott but I had a feeling he was talking to everyone at Sunderland.
Me too....he has been very mellow and almost fatherly in his appearances Friday & today.

Love him me, get the fucka announced asap.

id have thought that if it was close he wouldnt be on today. There must be shed loads to sort before Tuesdays game. Anything from sorting back room staff, meeting the players, holding meetings with staff to put a plan together, maybe even watch a couple of Cheltenham games. Could he justify messing bout on TV if the job was his?
It may have been a condition that he fulfils his media duties this weekend before its announced?

O'Neill played under Clough so I would expect him to think this way as many others who played for him did/do.

Not sure our players have the same mindset tbh. I could see them bursting into tears if Keane tears into them.
They’d be straight on facey twisting about their mental elf.

On a serious note - not sure if it’s been discussed on here BUT what would Keanes wages likely to be??

He won’t come for League one manager wages that’s for certain so I wonder what the agreement could be. £15-20k a week and a massive bonus if we go up??

Intriguing and a sign of KLD’s spending power if we get him. If we opt for someone else a lot cheaper we know we are happy with league one.
20k a week in League 1? It'll be much closer to a quarter of that.

Is that normal though and would you rather wait a while to avoid getting someone like Bruce?
IMO when a club take awhile to appoint a manager after sacking one it's because of knee jerk reaction. Even when Man Utd sacked Solsjkaer they had Rangnick in place a week later. The only club I can think of is the Mags after sacking Bruce. And we laughed at the shitshow that was.

I'm not saying we were wrong sacking Johnson but should have an idea who we wanted.
