He’s cost us big time. Deciding to play on with a depleted squad due to covid and brought in 2 absolute nobody’s to take charge after we sacked Lee Johnson. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I seen the team sheet.
Was it his decision to play on during covid? Who would you have given the interim role to?

Only Sunderland would keep an unchanged side after losing 6-0

transitioning to younger players with likely resale value. We may not be where we want to be, but instead of a squad full of plodders who are mid-to-late 20s on high wages and who've peaked in L1, at least the majority of the squad will be on lower wages with more likelihood of interest/higher value if & when we sell them.
So stay in League 1 but sell on young players to bigger clubs? Coz that's our future....We ain't going up...

What exactly does he do anyway?
What is his deliverable?
This is always the problem looking from the outside in. None of us know what he does day in day out and whether he does it well or not. That goes for CEOs, COOs, and backroom staff. There needs to be someone to blame and the manager has gone so who is next.
For me it's more the timing of sacking Johnson. I don't think he would have lost today or would have at the very least changed a losing team.
Someone should have been lined up before the sacking but has that come from KLD pushing the button rather than pressure from Speakman?

Bragging about our calm and professional approach to interviewing candidates for the headcoach role on the pre match coverage. They thought today was a free hit against bottom of the league. He needs to take some responsibility here too. Letting our best defender (regardless of your opinion on Flanagan, it’s true) go when we’re already shipping goals for fun was a disaster, and no fan-appeasing signing of Defoe is going to paper over those cracks
Also, really put a spotlight on the muppets who took the side today as well. Terrifying that they’re coaching the U23s.
Of course the players need to shoulder majority of the blame today but they really weren’t helped by how they were setup.
Or and his did he make the decision to play on with a depleted squad due to covid?

I wouldn’t have sacked a manager then pissed around for a week. Look at WBA.
Yes. Either sack Johnson and replace him or keep him. They've presumably thought a change in manager might help us reach automatics but throwing away an easy win against bottom of the league away seems to be an error. New manager has an insane job on his or her hands now.

Yeah who knows

My concern is he’s creating a lightweight under 23s team. Which is great, apart from the fact league one teams beat them regularly in the pizza cup
I think it can work with right formation / setup. That defensive mid role is crucial tho. Hopefully even our current caretaker 'manager' can see it aswell.

I wouldn't have either, it should have been agreed before Johnson was let go. Has the 6-0 made KLD jump the gun and right at the end of the window where the focus needs to be on getting the players in. There absolutely needs to be someone in place by Monday.
