I disagree, Keane did a brilliant job taking us up, it was a brilliant season, he kept us up with some great moments, then it unravelled, partly because he didn’t get his own way.

The Mags would argue the same argument about Rafa’s time there.

We said the Mags loved Rafa because of what he’d won elsewhere, it was true, Keane won loads as a player but, other than our Championship win, what has he won as a manager,

They are in
Tbh if they were in the 3rd division, had just sacked the latest in a string of inept failures, and the only other apparent candidates for the job were similarly dour losers, I wouldn't think they were daft for wanting Benitez back.

Leaving aside the issue of who did the better job for a minute, context is key here. In our current position, Keane coming back is the most exciting appointment that we can realistically make and it's not even close.

He didn’t he clearly said “there’s been speculation about you and Sunderland, speculation you were up there today” the clips on the thread ffs
Lots of speculation linking you with the Sunderland job, lots of speculation, indeed youve been there today.

Is what he said. I agree with you as to what he meant but it cpuld be interpreted the other way

Can’t compare what Keane did here with what the FSW did for the mags. Keane left us a division higher than when he come in man ffs.
We can though, Keane took us up, kept us up and it was bloody brilliant. Then, he. left, and lets not wear rose tinted glasses around the reason he left.

So, not in terms of where they left us in the League, that’s not my argument, but we have ripped the piss out of the Mags for months for their cult of wanting Rafa back.

No similarity at all between the two scenarios, sorry

That was the only thing that slightly concerned me tbh.
It won't just be about money, he will want cast iron assurances, (which will be inserted into contract) about a plethora of things, finances of we go up, direction of club, alsorts, also the contract will work both ways, the club will have safeguards inserted to protect itself incase Roy goes awol,

It was totally different man

He took over we were bottom 3 of the championship with a team relegated with the lowest ever points total, we then won the league and he kept us up

The place ane fans were absolutely buzzing through it all. People have short memories like

Bit different from rafa spunking about £50 million to get them up
