Fuck the Daily Mail but what it does prove is Joe much this would put the club back on the map. Would they write anything if we appointed some two bit nobody sacked by Hull?
I live in Telford and had a bloke out to quote on some work at home yesterday. He spotted some Sunderland memorabilia and the first thing he said was “I hear you’re going to appoint Roy Keane as manager”. He never mentioned Grant McCann surprisingly.

I had the same experience, neighbour over the road was like Roy Keane then, and I was like I bloody hope so

It's good to hear people talking about Sunderland again.

“There is nothing in Keane's punditry for Sky Sports and ITV over the past 11 years since he last managed a club to suggest his temper has cooled or his personality has altered.”

It then goes on to use the ‘swinging punches’ rant against De Gea which was in 2018?

But nowt (or barely nowt) since then? And he hasn’t cooled down apparently?

Absolute bollocks.
He was on Sky six months ago saying he’d “grab” Ole and ask “why are you playing Fred?”. I just don’t think it’s a good appointment.

Cracking article in the mail this morning. I wasn’t sure on him coming back but after reading that I’m all for it now. I mentioned after Saturday game we needed Johnson sacked and a winner coming into. The club. Step forward Roy Keane. Come on.

I wouldn't read too much into pundit remarks. That's what they're paid for. Bit of a circus show hence I never watch those parts. Odd time I watch a live game it's the game only and none of the analysis shite.

To be fair though there's possibly a bit of playing up to his character when he's doing TV work. He knows what people expect when he's doing punditry and, as it's likely a lucrative gig for him, he quite possibly just goes along with it. Things like the interview with neville where he's largely just being himself suggest he's taken stock of his time in management and knows there are things he should have done differently. That being said it's league one, I'm happy if he has high standards and is pissed of if they aren't met. Steve Evans has had a decent career in this division, Ainsworth got promoted, Karl Robinson seems like a complete knacker. People suggesting that somehow football has changed and you need to be some softly spoken, highly progressive, arm around the shoulder type to succeed are either wrong or they aren't referring to this division
