Think there are better options but Keane wouldn’t be running all the training he would be managing the team. So would Keane be able to motivate this squad to achieve what it is obviously capable of? That is quite obviously true. So if it does happen I will be happy

Why would any safc fan not want Keane ?
As an outsider if you were to appoint Keane, a huge amount of peoples eyebrows would shoot upwards, including mine.

I know you guys like him and there's sentiment, but it'd be absolutely Batshit and wouldn't work imo

We used to laugh at the mags over their Keegan and Shearer obsession. We are going the same over Keane and Defoe. We just lost 6-0 and it’s seems forgotten over a couple of big names.

I like Defoe but can’t stand Keane. Some of the things he’s said and done over the years are appalling. We will become Ireland reserves again and that won’t get us where we want to be.
Do you think Grant McCann, Paul Cook or Jonathan Woodgate would get us to where we want to be?

I don’t want him.

Keane was a great appointment 16 years ago and exactly what the club needed at the time, but
1) I don’t quite think it’s what we need this time
2) His name and aura won’t have the same affect on the players now as it did when he was fairly freshly retired.
3) He’s done absolutely nothing of note since he left us 13 years ago
