Roy Keane

Don’t you think Dave Jones, who knows the real Roy Keane won’t have talked to him in some detail about the job, the club, the squad, the board etc for it even to get to this stage? It’s far from a nostalgic appointment. Keane must really fancy it and the board will have complete confidence he’s the man. It’s a really exciting propitiation. Isn’t sport and football supposed to be about enjoyment and excitement?

Jobs for the boys influenced by a fan whose reminiscing.

It’s nostalgic as the fella hasn’t managed in TWELVE years. He’s had two club jobs as an assistant that haven’t lasted a calendar year, too. He doesn’t fit what we’ve been told is our new approach.

I’ll be honest, I’ve barely enjoyed a second of being in League One and the excitement has been on par with waiting for a dentist appointment when you’ve got toothache. Appointing a man with the credentials of Keane does nothing to improve these. I want out of this league and I don’t know if Keane is the right person to follow Johnson. I liked him the first time around and it was good while it briefly lasted but it’s been a hell of a long time since he left and a hell of a long time since he’s had a job as manager.

The position we’re in, both on the pitch and off it, should mean we’re well beyond appointing someone who hasn’t worked in twelve year and doesn’t suit the approach we’ve taken thus far this season.

Listen I am NOT ITK at all, but I was informed by a friend and a mag by the way, that a meeting was set up in Northumberland at a business and leisure complex on Mon afternoon, which was cancelled due to weather conditions and re routed to cumbria. That’s all I know but a meeting or interview whatever was arranged.

Not convinced he’s a long term option but fuck it get him in for 17 games, one of the only blokes who would be universally accepted by the fans. He would have everyone onboard instantly and the buzz it would create around the club and city would be massive.

Just a hunch or based on info?
Just a hunch mate, got no connections or out.

Luke Edwards tweeted today it'd be a great appointment. Now it's in the mail he's being interviewed. Just seems to have a bit momentum. Could be wrong though.

If its a 4 month job and the alternatives are like Woodgate, let's just gamble.

Agreed 100%

I honestly think the signing of JD might help with this. The hierarchy can't have missed the impact he's had on supporters having only been back for two minutes. Keane would have exactly the same response if he re-joined us
