Absolutely on board for this, I think if he gets himself some experience in his back room team we’ll absolutely walk this league.

I'm not sure about the "he wouldn't fit the structure at the club" line.

I've heard him say a few times that he loves the job of motivating a team and getting ready for every match. He just doesn't like the wider "manager" stuff like negotiating contracts etc. On that basis, you'd think it would suit him perfectly, as long as he had a loud voice in the room when recruitment decisions are made. It's basically an opportunity for him to take responsibility for managing a group of players, motivating them and preparing for games - with Speakman doing all the stuff Keane hates.
This is my thoughts entirely. Its the shitty negotiating / agents crack which he probablys cant be arsed with. If anything he'll probablys prefer the sole focus being on team prep and player management. Much rather have roy keane on the touchline for safc than any one else tbh

It is exactly that.

I loved Keane when he was here. We pissed the league and did incredibly back in the Premier League. He left us fifteen years ago, hasn’t managed in twelve and doesn’t fit what we’ve been told for nearly a year is our new approach. It’s a sentimental appointment that doesn’t fit or suit anyone but a section of the fans. At least with Defoe, you can justify it, goalscorer, experienced head around kids, relevant. Keane does car-pool videos with Micah Richards ffs.

It's only for 4 months ffs.

It's easy to get carried away with nostalgia but on the flip side we were Keanes first job and he seems the type to learn from his mistakes.

I think most managers need to accept the DOF or they would never be hired so doubt if he genuinely wanted the job he'd turn it down on the basis of a DOF. We need a bounce - Keano could be the man to do it

He'd also get the crowd behind the team ( alongside Defoe ) . Could see us over the line then we can assess things for next season
