Worst result in our history.

Not a single one of those were in the 3rd tier of football.
Exactly. That today was worst in the history of Sunderland football club. We can’t keep getting walloped in the 3rd tier off shit team. Manager isn’t good enough, doesn’t know his best team or best formation and keeps persisting with Gooch and dajaku which quiet frankly would struggle at Hartlepool.

Worst result in 143 years? Eh?

We got beat 8–0 by Watford and West Ham FFS. Manchester United turned us over 8–1 IIRC.

The Mags stuffed us 6–1 at home in 1955. I was there. THAT was awful!
he means being beaten by so many goals in such a low league

Weighing everything up you’d say it was. Other heavy losses have come higher up in the Championship and Premiership. This is a 6-0 thrashing in League One.

We are in league one ya pillock

So, it's the worst result ever for us in the third flight, isn't it? Not the worst result in our history, though, is it?

By the way, hurling your personal faeces at fellow Sunderland supporters who haven't abused you isn't acceptable.

I accept that but he's wrong about it being the "worst result in our history".

Fair enough. It's all about opinions I suppose.
Losing to the mags is always gut wrenching, but in the grand scheme of things I just think this is a new low

I don’t think he is wrong tho mate. That’s today was f***ing not good enough and if you think this isn’t our lowest point you must only be a toddler

have we been beaten by more goals from a team lower placed than bolton are today ..then that is the worst result every imo

Not read all the replies but losing 6-0 in the third division is simply unacceptable.

I used to tut and roll my eyes at the old boys at the SoL who "had it bad" because they saw us in the 3rd division in the late 80s.

This is a new low.

I've must say, on I think I went into a depression for about a fortnight after we got pumped off the Mags 5-1. This is the worst result, but the Mags loss was the worst day. And I'm talking relegations and cup losses. That was a hard day.

This result is just standard Sunderland fair. Getting hammered on a Saturday. Just shite.

Nothing will happen unfortunately. Johnson is a great bullshitter and our owners - whoever the fuck they are - won’t be wanting to sack him this close to the end of the window.
I thought the whole point of the structure we have now, is that the same style of manager can come in and it be relatively seemless.

Based on the level it has happened at - yes. Mind the Southampton 8-0 and the Mags 5-1 are up there like.
And the Hornets.
Well we have had four defeats by 8-0 all away from home but that offers little solace for today!!!!
Unfortunately, I have been at two of them.

We had no game plan, shape or strategy, they were quicker to the ball and stronger when they had it. That definitely ranks among the worst performances I’ve seen in my forty six years of following this club.

I’ve also been in the “give the manager time” brigade but who is there to replace him who could motivate and get more out of the squad we have now? A repeated cycle of clearing out dead wood and changing the manager every fifteen minutes isn’t going to solve anything.
