"Neither Amanda Staveley nor her firm, PCP Capital Partners, “had the funds necessary” to buy her 10 per cent stake in Newcastle United, according to a lawsuit brought by the club’s former owner, Mike Ashley – in stark contradiction of her insistence that family money and the sale of a hotel was used to buy the shares."


She's been caught out lying here like:


"The document contradicts previous statements by Staveley and her representatives. She stated in early October that she was using “her family’s money” to buy the 10 per cent, while on October 15 a spokesman for Staveley, inset, told The Times that PCP had not borrowed any money from a loan arrangement with SJHL."


The obvious question is: if your partners in this sordid enterprise are the sovereign wealth fund of an oil rich country, why can't they lend you the money, rather than having to scrounge it from the previous owner?

The next obvious question to ask is: "if they wouldn't even put in a few million to help buy the club in the first place, how likely are they to spend hundreds of millions on players at the risk of doing an Everton?"

The existence of this loan is an uncomfortable fact that's just sitting there, inviting all sorts of questions, and the most likely answers are things that the mags just don't want to hear. No wonder she felt the need to lie about it. Will be interesting to see what else comes out of this legal action.

Reading a lot of this stuff on here tonight, the New York Times article in particular, there needs to be some sort of united (no pun intended) club/fan protest to the Premier League to make Richard Masters categorically say publicly that he is one hundred per cent certain that NUFC are NOT owned by the state of Saudi Arabia.

He also needs to explain in real practical terms what action would realistically be taken if they break their promises.

Freezing NUFC funds or kicking them out of league or transfer embargo would be utterly unenforceable as would create a diplomatic incident at governmental levels.

I’ve been saying this since day one. Before Keith blocked me he mocked me for saying they would be sold within five years. Whereas I said it was a tart it up, grow revenue and sells within five years.

I welcome any of resident mags to give me a theory on why Queen Mandy borrows circa 40m? Where is this going? What is the end Game?

note further if she doesn‘t continue to borrow her investment will be diluted.

The rest of football has to hope that there are some high end legal bods monitoring this absolutely farcical situation. The Premier League have questions to answer. Very serious ones.

Exactly.

If this is a Man City style takeover, then there is absolutely no reason for that loan to exist. Her business partners are some of the richest men in the UK and an entire state's wealth fund.

She herself is well aware of the implications of its existence, hence the lying. Absolute outright lies as well, when you look at it. Her heart must have sank when she saw Mike Ashley was going to bring it all out in the open. She's got the mags and our absolutely fuckwitted local journalists in the palm of her hand for now though, so not much to worry about just yet.
