Burnley signing a cracking player here mind. Man U , Wolves and Arsenal were in for him. Bad news for the mags

On paper, this will be the best business any Premier League club does in January.

How could a club that's bottom of the league, convince the circus to hand over 25m for Wood, and then get a bloke who averages 1 in 2 in the Bundesliga for less than half the money?!

Cos they have one of the most underrated managers in the game. If he was called Seanio Dycheio he’d probably be manager of Arsenal or Man United.

Dyche will be furious at what Wood did by basically walking out on Burnley at such a crucial time to a relegation rival.

🙏

Has anyone left the mags this window? I’m guessing they didn’t have a 25 man squad or how are they fitting all these players in?

Let's hope Dycheio has them fired up to send the carthorse down.
Aye it’s a fair point

I’d written Burnley off before that battling point at arsenal the other day

And the Chris wood thing could give them a bit of a “fuck them” attitude towards the rest of the season. An extra bit of motivation

If Burnley do sign Weghourst and Orsic, I'll fancy them to stay up.

They're by far the most solid of the teams at the bottom, as their clean sheet at the Emirates last week suggests (they've only conceded 27, the other teams down there have all conceded 40+); and these two are proper attacking threats. Weghourst consistently averaging a goal every other game in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga, and Orsic (a winger) having scored 40 in 100 games for Zagreb.

To get those two in with the Chris Wood money, and still have change left over, is ridiculous business. All the mags were crowing about how clever it was to take Wood away from a relegation rival, forgetting that they had to hand over £25,000,000 in exchange, and Burnley might actually spend it.

Preparing for life in the championship if they bring in Eddie. His contract is up in June so anything Arsenal get transfer wise is a bonus.
