Just to confirm we have brought in a 24yr old winger from Man City who is hugely talented and a 21yr old winger from Spurs who has also been highly rated everywhere he has played. Yet to see these lads step on the pitch. The romance of Defoe coming has completely overshadowed these two additions who will play a massive part in our promotion push, more so than Defoe would.

Not to mention the beast of Centre Half we’ve been crying out for! Need a commanding CM more than Defoe
 
Need a striker and a physical cm with height and stature . Would take defoe in a heartbeat cm is a more challenging one

Wouldn’t come to this level. I think he’s the exact player we miss. Someone who can cover all the pitch

I think O’Nien can do half the job but isn’t good enough on the ball

We of course need another forward or two, Defoe is ideal off the bench material but just believe these two lads could have a massive part to play.

If Defoe does sign he will spend more time on the pitch than the two of them put together imo
 
I’m a bit concerned about the Defoe link. I love JD and of course would be happy if he gave us six months and then went onto be involved within the club coaching. I think that sentimental signings like JD and Leadbitter prevent the club maybe getting a younger player through the doors that can stay with the club for years and develop. Hopefully the recruitment team have something in the pipeline
