Neil Young taken off Spotify

Yeah, maybe 20 podcasts worth of listens? I think that as Rogans show brings in a young audience (think the average age is mid 20s) that will be a factor in why they continue to back him.

Having said that. Now that this is in the news again, I fully expect social media warriors to begin an assault with hashtags etc and it may be too much for the company big wigs to handle. Perhaps they will be forced to cut him if other artists are then being pressured in to not using Spotify.
But that’s one song of a huge huge back catalogue

Have no idea who is more profitable for them, but you’re underestimating how big Young is

Yes, the most popular in the world and for good reason - he interviews the most diverse amount of guests, all creeds, colours and backgrounds and political persuasions. He recently had a CNN news correspondent on who admitted they lied about Rogan after he went to a doctor and got Covid remedies that were outside of the Covid Karen’s narrow window.

The left generally hate Rogan as he is a maverick that cannot be controlled or coerced by them so they are now obsessed by him with their hate.
You are on another planet. Talk of "obsessed with their hate". I don't think Joe Rogan even comes into the heads of people on the left. I certainly never have conversations about him with anyone on the left. Tis you who is filled with hate.

I like Neil Youngs music. I pay £9.99 a month to hear it on Spotify

who is going to give me some money back?
It's in the small prnt. "Artist may throw their toys out of the plan, we have no control over this"

Great bit of advertising for Rogen, because I'd never heard of him before now.

And still the world sleeps on, long after sunrise :(

It begins. The big players are removing their music..

“Several artists, including UK psychedelic musician Darren Sangita and German techno producer Skee Mask, have pulled their music from Spotify, spearheading a small "Boycott Spotify" movement.”

You may mock but these things have a momentum. If record companies and amazon can see an angle they will shamelessly exploit any movement to increase revenue. Spotify are massive but haven’t got the resources that amazon and apple have.

I was saying above in the thread, that’s a real possibility. I can see social media types getting well behind this and looking to get Spotify to kick Rogan off the platform. It will take either a huge dent in subscriptions (I think unlikely, yet) or one or two other major artists to request to be removed before there would be any movement though.

I mean, Rogan was paid $100m 2yrs a go to move to Spotify. Not sure he will walk away tbh.

It does raise an interesting debate, who gets to decide who can speak on a subject and what they can say. I don't think we should be shutting down peoples right to talk about things generally but obviously it's not good if things are being broadcast that can be dangerous.

I haven't listened to it but wasn't the guest that seems have caused most of the controversy involved in the development of the vaccine? Seems a reasonable enough person to talk to on the face of it.

Yeah, it was a guest who supposedly caused the uproar. Spotify have said that since the start of the pandemic they have removed thousands of podcasts from their platform for misinformation. They haven’t done it for this one.
