Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Knee jerk says absolutely not but then you stop and think we’re part of an alliance and we’d hope and expect our allies to back us up if the situation were different.

Then again that didn’t work out tremendously to plan in 1982.
82 was slightly different as the mutual defence agreement didn't cover us going to aid other states/ countries (iirc)

France assume the EU presidency this year and Macron is going to push it.
Stop reading whatever nonsense websites you read.

Anyway, back on topic to the OP and real events, it is a difficult situation. My normal instinct is to support the UK to go in full force with the US and NATO. I think that would be my preference, just about, but the energy supply issue is a real concern and Russia know that they have that leverage to stop UK and western Europe entering a conflict.

Article 5 clearly did'nt apply in 82

as for our Allies not helping

- US shipped latest model Sidewinders to us, and allegedly offered us the use of a USMC carrier if things were to go really pear shaped
- French stopped supplies of Exocet parts to Argentina, and supplied us with technical info relating to Exocet performance
- pretty sure other allied navies picked up our other commitments while the RN was all down south

Well if Putin does invade the price he has to pay will probably be a build up of NATO troops in countries like Poland and the Baltic states, which is something he’s trying to avoid in the first place.

They won't be "giving" those weapons to Ukraine. The President's got around $12billion he's willing to spend, not many will want to take a pass on that opportunity.

"I am proud that for the first time in 30 years in 2022 the funding of the defense and security sector, all programs, will exceed 320 billion hryvnias. Especially given the fact that in 2018 this amount was 191.7 billion hryvnias."

The Nazbol vortex is in full flow and all libs want to do is sell arms to make more profit.

They should leave horseshoe theory to the farriers

To be honest with you I love that space in between, right in the chaos, If you watch carefully you see Tommy Tards and Labour Libs alike short circuit at meta politics. Both Tory and Labour, almost to a man support Ukraine, like how can none of them see it man.
