I think that we have seen obvious examples of unprofessional journalism in the north east with the antics of the sycophantic hypocrites who have covered the Saudi takeover of NUFC.

The days of most football journalists having a set of morals, not to mention good, reliable contacts who respect them, has long gone.

People who hang onto their every word and take what they say as gospel are highly naive.

The reaction yesterday when a ball bobbled on the lifting pitch and Gooch inadvertently took it out. Absolutely pathetic from some.

Where are these thousands of people not going? Are they same thousands who don't go because they can't pay cash at a turnstile? There are certainly thousands who would go if we were in the PL and they could watch superstars. What other cohorts of fans are not going and why? Or is it all a load of shite?

It’s because you’re wrong mate.

Journalist hears something about someone and prints it. Said someone comes out and says it’s wrong and the truth is the opposite.

Who do you believe? I’m not sure what you can’t understand about that.

I genuinely don't see why thousands would suddenly turn up because of Defoe if they didn't when we were on a great run.

Under the circumstances this wil be hard for LJ and you dot know whats going on behind the scenes ..Were supposed to have a well oiled recruitment machine with a plan and have a list of players to go for and one of them must be a striker (or they are idiots )but we dont know the limits put to LJ it might be we can only afford to get one striker in and it might be between defoe (who does have a question mark over him)and another fit striker ........ what a decision to make ! Put yourself in lj position What would you do if its a choice JD or another fit striker?

Because to many fans signing defoe would be the most exciting thing to happen to the club in a few seasons. New signings create excitement and interest. Just the way it works. Like every club we have a lot of fans who pick and choose games. I’ve always said I would rather go and watch Sunderland win than go and watch us get beat off liverpool/man u etc but again fixtures against teams like that create a lot more interest
