Becareful what you wish for..Why would a mag love Beheadie Howe? He's been a disaster thus far. I would be very sceptical of him at this stage.
All the mags were saying the team was better than the results Bruce was getting. Due to poor tactics, wrong formation etc. Howe comes in, doesn't get a new manager bounce and gets worse results too

People forget how we were the masters of getting points late in the season, even against top teams so the Mags or even Watford or Burnley could do itThey may pick up unexpected points toward end of season as other teams give up on the league / rest players for other comps . .. . but then that will be the same for the other relegation threatened teams.
Newcastle always seem to pull of the odd unlikely result ( then make of a mess of the next easier ones

The takeover was Oct and Howe was appointed mid Nov. He had 6 weeks between then and the window opening to identify players and put out feelers.

Personally I don't think Howe is behind any of these signings. I watched Watford and it looks like the strategy is diagonal ball from Trippier to Wood. They wouldn't have scored if it was not for naive defending from Watford, likewise Pope spilling the ball.
