Newcastle are like if you won the Euromillions but were only allowed to spend it in B&M Bargains.

Sunderland are like your neighbour that told you he won the lottery but a year later he's still living next door to you and driving his ten year old Clio.

A draw would put the mags bottom.

A draw would be the best result possible for them as it takes an extra point out of the mix. As long as either team win I'll not be too bothered although two Watford wins and they'll be nine points ahead of the murderers which, at their current rate, would take them until mid April to equal.
Eriksen could be off to Brentford

Sensible signing for them, TBF.
We’re in the age of the journo-fan, grim it is too. Hugh McIlvanney must be turning in his grave.

Correct. They're basically fanzine writers employed by the nationals. Strange how it's worked out.

The stuff that Caulkin, Edwards and Hope have churned out in the last few months has been an embarrassment TBF. I used to do a load of writing for ALS when I was at university and wanted to go down the journalist route.

My stuff was bad in hindsight. But, put it this way, I'd have been embarrassed to have wrote some of the stuff they're coming out with now.

Now being linked with an ‘ambitious move’ for 35 year old PSG keeper Keyler Navas.

I wonder how much they’d pay for a 35 year old? £25m?

They’re not journalists now they are just rabble rousers who know their gullible audience. Craig Hope is the same.

The issue is that they're so reliant on online fan support that they can't afford to go against consensus. And online football fans are very, very sensitive to anything that goes against their view. To be fair to Edwards, he didn't go along with a lot of the takeover fantasising before it was announced, but runs an absolutely cringeworthy Twitter account and is now a fully signed up member of Mandy's PR team.

They're seemingly just useful idiots for the new regime. For as much as they're willing to repeat whatever line the press office tells them to, the actual transfer scoops tend to come from Italians and other journalists who don't actually cover Newcastle for a living.
