Ashley bowed to fan pressure with Allardyce but that was the last time it happened.

If they'd stuck with Allardyce back then, with his proven ability to turn up talent and wheel and deal, the whole story could have been quite different.

They need to swallow their pride and some difficult medicine now

I've not give Newcastle much of a look this season. I knew they were struggling and a few points adrift but I didn't realise they had only won one game all season. A lot of draws to keep their points tally high, but that is shocking. I was taking a general look at the table and assumed they were picking up the odd win here and there.

They are terrible but so are the other teams down there.

Probably go on a 3 match run and end up 5 points clear of safety
