Same here mate. We just watched season 3 all today.
It’s funny because this, like a lot of Gervais’s work, is very formulaic, but it’s so well observed, written, casted, directed and acted that even though you see it, it still works.
You can see why he was the way he was in the earlier years when he was being interviewed, cos once he’s got the formula it’s just turn the handle on the sausage machine and out pops another episode. That’s not to say it’s easy, god knows it’s not, otherwise we’d see much more original stuff hitting the mark like he does so consistently.

Thought series 1 was superb and I had muck in my eye more than once. Series 2 didn't quite reach those heights for me but I'll watch series 3 as soon as time permits.
The missus isn't so bothered so I'll be watching on me own.
