Novak Djokovic

Lied about the visa application, having an agent complete it doesn’t exonerate him from irregularities in its completion.
The agent thing is utter bullshit. First off, you're correct - having someone else complete an application for you, doesn’t exonerate you - you and only you are responsible for the content of the submission.

I also don't believe for a moment that nobody involved in the application for his VISA, had no knowledge of the fact that he attended several public events in Serbia, and then flew to Spain to attend a training camp, and then flew from Spain to Australia...the person/people to whom Djokovic delegates taking care of all of his travel arranges and VISA documents, didn't know Djokovic was in Serbia, attending public events that were splashed all over his twitter feed - Including interviews with L'Equipe, presumably organised by his team - and then didn't know/have anything to do with his flights to Spain, and didn't ask him where he'd been, when filling in the form...

And? Tennis Australia aren’t the Australian immigration department. He chose not to follow the entry requirements for travel to Australia. Why should he be allowed entry to it? Or are you suggesting sovereign countries shouldn’t control their borders the way they want?
I think the rules should be reasonable & logical.

Would you feel the same about him other than him not being vaccinated?
I've told my niece (a teacher) that it's her look-out if she runs into probems in her job because she refuses to be vaccinated. Her controlling fiance's an anti-vaxer. As far as I know she's not compounding this by lying about anything officially but hey y'know? We make our own choices and beds to lie in.

Maybe he was only there for 25 minutes and thought it was a meeting.

How is that a rule though?
Everyone who travels to Australia travels through another country to get there.
I travelled through 4 countries on the way to Australia before.
You're talking about a flight lay-over. That is not the same as flying into different countries, attending public events, spending prolonged amounts of time there. Djokovic had a layover in Dubai. I don't care about that, that isn't the problem.

I had 4-5 days holidays in 2 of the places. Maybe they've changed the rules but I don't see why it matters where you've been before coming to any country?

If he just kept quiet but he had to be Billy Big Bollocks on Twitter boasting that he had got exemption to enter the country. That really pissed a lot of people off, they have incredibly tough restrictions in Australia and Djokovic basically took the piss out of them. He could have just said he made the criteria for entry to the country.
And it would never have become public that he was unvaccinated or had "tested positive" dec 16th

Her choice, exactly the same choice that you had.
This situation wouldn't have occurred if he was vaccinated, because he wouldn’t have needed to try and falsify visa documents.
Not an answer but I'll take it as you wouldn't.

It doesn't matter what you think about Australian Visa rules. Australia gets to dictate the criteria for does and doesn't legally enter their country. Everybody else has to meet that criteria. He was aware of the visa requirements, and lied to avoid them. He was also aware of the isolation rules for Covid in Serbia, and he violated the fvck out of them as well.

He doesn't get to do whatever the fvck he wants, and suffer no consequences of the actions he takes. He's all for personal freedom, when it benefits Novak.
